HBA-DC Member Spotlight:Vincent Rivas Flores

Vincent Rivas-Flores in an Associate Attorney at Konare Law in Frederick, MD. He litigates cases in the immigration courts in the DMV area and across the country on behalf of persons facing deportation from the United States. Vincent advises clients in a wide variety of immigration-related cases and application, including family-based petitions, waivers of inadmissibility, applications for asylum, and employment-based petitions.


In law school, Vincent was President of the Immigration Law Association, where he led the organization in various pro bono projects and educational activities, including Alternative Spring Break trips to the United States-Mexico border at El Paso/Ciudad Juarez and Tucson/Nogales. There, Vincent volunteered with the Florence Project on behalf of detained immigrant in the Florence Detention Center. Vincent interned in various positions in government, nonprofit, and the private sector, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the American Immigration Counsel.


Vincent graduated from the George Washington University Law School in 2016. He received in B.A. in English Literature and Classics from the University of South Florida in 2013. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the HBA-DC Student Affairs Committee, which he states, provided invaluable assistance to him as a law student.
