HBA-DC Member Spotlight: Diana Baquero

Diana Baquero is an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support Services Division of the Office of the Attorney for the District of Columbia, where she represents the District of Columbia in paternity and child support cases.  She was previously a staff attorney in the Family Law Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance (“PLA”), the federally funded civil legal aid program in Philadelphia. At PLA, Mrs. Baquero represented sexual assault survivors in family law matters that included child custody, child and spousal support, protection from abuse, and divorce. At PLA, Mrs. Baquero specialized in the representation of victims of family violence and conducted numerous trainings and continuing legal education courses, in domestic violence, protection from abuse, custody, and support, to other legal professionals, social workers, and law student interns. Mrs. Baquero is bilingual in the English and Spanish languages.


Mrs. Baquero was a former Martin Luther King Jr., Fellowship recipient who joined the staff of PLA in August 2011.  Mrs. Baquero received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Business Management from St. Peter’s University and her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2011. 


Mrs. Baquero currently serves as co-chair of the Social and Special Events Committee of the Hispanic Bar Association of District of Columbia. She formerly served as the Treasurer and Board Member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania from 2012-2016.
