HBA-DC Member Spotlight: Catherine Meza

Catherine Meza serves as a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), where she enforces federal voting rights laws, including the Voting Rights Act. In 2012 and 2016, Catherine was awarded a Distinguished Service Award from the U.S. DOJ’s Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights for her exceptional work on litigation in the Voting Section.


Catherine received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. from New York University.


Catherine currently serves as co-chair of the HBA-DC’s Endorsements Committee and as a mentor in HBA-DC’s Mentorship Program.
