HBA-DC Member Spotlight: Julian Gonzalez
Julian Gonzalez is an Environmental Program Manager for the Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA), a non-profit representing state-level agency administrators responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act. His role entails serving as a liaison between ACWA members and their federal counterparts at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by providing EPA with feedback on behalf of state agencies as EPA crafts water policy, and by serving as a resource for both state and EPA water program staff while bringing them together to help craft smarter environmental policies. Mr. Gonzalez is proud to be a dedicated advocate of progressive and effective environmentalism.
Born and raised in The Bronx, New York City, Mr. Gonzalez's path to environmental law began with frequent childhood visits to the Bronx Zoo and a high school internship with the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance. In 2006, he graduated high school from The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. In 2010, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation Biology. Finally, in 2013, he graduated with a Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, in Washington, DC.
Mr. Gonzalez enjoys watching and reading about the New York Knicks and New York Yankees, and can often be found playing basketball at indoor and outdoor courts all over D.C. when time permits. He is also active with the American Bar Association Section on Environment, Energy, and Resources, as well as the Hispanic Bar Association of Washington, D.C. as co-chair of the Legislative and Policy Committee.
