HBA-DC is co-sponsoring the 12th Annual Hispanic Law Conference:
The Latino/a Agenda in the New Administration and the 111th Congress


The Hispanic Law Conference is a premier forum for the promotion of issues that affect the Latino community, both nationally and internationally. Here is a preview of what you may expect during the Conference:

12:15-1:45 PM - Lunch with Law Students
High school Latino/a students will have a one-on-one interaction with Latino/a law students in a friendly atmosphere to learn about life as a college student.

2:10-4:10 PM - American University Tour: Exploring Campus Life @ AU
An opportunity for local area high school students to receive a full college tour of American University.

3:30-4:30 PM - Career Forum
The career forum offers JD and LL.M. students the opportunity to network with representatives of organizations in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. EMPLOYER REGISTRATION DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY. Interested employers can register by visiting www.wcl.american.edu/hispanic/

4:40-5:00 PM - Welcome By Presidents of the Hispanic Bars (DC, Maryland, Virginia, and National Bar)

5:10-6:20 PM - 1st Panel: First 100 Days of the New Administration
This panel will discuss the impact of the New Administration on pertinent issues to the Latino Community. Board member and past president, Robert Raben, on panel.

6:30-7:20 PM - 2nd Panel: Reflections of Latino Lawyers
The panelists will discuss their career experiences as Latino lawyers. The panel includes The Honorable Laura A. Cordero, HBA-DC President, Marlon Paz, HBA-DC Board member, Brigida Benitez, and A. Manuel Garcia.

7:30-9:15 PM - Annual Awards Dinner
Awards will be presented to those individuals who have significantly contributed to the progress of the Latino community. The keynote speaker will be The Honorable Marisa J. Demeo.
