HBA-DC Seeking Immigrant Stories

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

In an effort to put a human face to the debate on comprehensive immigration reform, the Legislative & Policy Issues Committee is compiling immigrants' stories. The stories will be shared with Senator Cardin (D-MD) and Congressman Van Hollen (MD-D), as part of our work on HNBA's Legislative Day.  These personal stories may also be shared in other public forums.  Along with your name and photo, we need personal stories from you or someone you know that highlight why we need immigration reform now.  The most compelling stories tell us: *  Why and from where you immigrated to the U.S. *  What was your American Dream? *  What have you contributed to your community here in the U.S.? *  How have you been hindered or hurt by our broken immigration system?  Congress wants to hear these stories and by sharing them we can help drive comprehensive immigration reform forward.

Questions and stories should be sent to Eissa Villasenor at eissa.villasenor@gmail.com by July 21, 2013.
