JIMMIE REYNA UNANIMOUSLY CONFIRMED BY THE SENATE (86-0) TO THE U.S. COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE FEDERAL CIRCUIT
On Monday April 4, HBA-DC member, friend, and mentor Jimmie Reyna became the first Hispanic American confirmed to a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The Federal Circuit has nationwide jurisdiction in a variety of subject areas, including international trade, government contracts, patents, trademarks, certain money claims against the United States government, federal personnel, veterans' benefits, and public safety officers' benefits claims.
Jimmie most recently served as a partner and director of the International Trade and Customs practice group at the law firm Williams Mullen, in Washington, D.C. He is a leading international trade attorney with significant experience in trade policy, business regulation, and compliance law.
President Obama nominated Jimmie on September 29, 2010, and he was reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously on March 10, 2010. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and look forward to celebrating "Juez Reyna." Felicitaciones, Jimmie!
