DC Court of Appeals Accepting Applications for Criminal Justice Act Panel

The D.C. Court of Appeals will be accepting applications from
qualified attorneys for inclusion in its Criminal Justice Act (CJA)
Panel beginning June 1, 2012. Applications for the CJA panel will be
available beginning May 31, 2012. The CJA Panel is comprised of
attorneys the Court determines are eligible to be appointed to represent
indigent appellants in criminal appeals. The Court has a need for
bilingual attorneys. Interested attorneys must return four copies of a
completed application, including four copies of the writing sample, to
the Clerk’s Office of the D.C. Court of
Appeals no later than August 3, 2012. The Court expects to notify successful applicants by the end of August 2012.
The application and application update may be obtained from the court’s website beginning May 31, 2012, at http://www.dccourts.gov/internet/legal/cja.jsf.
Completed applications should be submitted to the Court of Appeals,
Historic Courthouse, 430 E Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001. These
should be sent to the attention of Rosanna Mason, Staff Counsel. The
application and application update include a waiver and release form
that will permit the Office of Bar Counsel to release any disciplinary
records on the applicant to the D.C. Court of Appeals.
