DLA Piper was selected for its performance on the recruitment and retention of Latino attorneys as well as for its expressed commitment to Latino professionals and diversity in the workplace. Each year, the bar requests information from Washington, DC law firms, businesses and government offices about their diversity programs and practices and then evaluates that information based upon the legal employers' engagement and effots to meet the needs of Hispanic attorneys. The number of Hispanic partners and associates, recruitment and retention programs, and pro bono work for the Latino community are among the criteria the bar uses to evaluate performance. Rusty Conner accepted the award on behalf of DLA Piper.
