President Obama Nominates Tom Perez for Secretary of Labor

On Monday, March 18th, President Obama nominated Tom Perez as the next Secretary of Labor. Since 2009, Mr. Perez has worked as the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice. Prior to his work at the Department of Justice, he served as the Secretary of Maryland’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), where he focused on protecting consumer and worker rights, workplace safety, and wage and hour laws. He is a past member of HBA-DC and served as the keynote speaker for the 2011 Equal Justice Awards
