Season's Greetings from HBA-DC

Saturday, December 27, 2014

HBA-DC brings season’s greetings to all and wishes members and friends a joyous and peaceful holiday season.

Historically Latinos have celebrated Christmas, with all of its attendant traditions like gift giving, religious services, and holiday decorations.  Today in our multicultural society Hispanics also celebrate Hanukkah and even the Eid festivals when they occur in December.  No matter the particular traditions, Latinos – like all Americans – come together in community to sustain each other and to share joy at this time of year.

Sustaining communities, especially through giving, is an essential element of the holiday season.  “HBA-DC appreciates that our community is maintained by members’ dues and by their participation in the Association’s many activities,” stated HBA-DC President Fernando Rivero.  “I encourage our members and friends to consider giving to their favorite charities at year’s end as a way to strengthen vulnerable communities.”

A tax-deductible gift to the HBA-DC Foundation, which helps law students with summer fellowships in public interest legal work, can be made by clicking here.

Happy holidays to all!
