On September 9, 2020, the latest iteration of the HBA-DC's “Evening With” featured Mónica Palacio, a longtime HBA-DC member who served as DC Office of Human Rights Director for six years and is now running for an at large seat on the DC City Council.  The discussion was curated by HBA-DC Past President Fernando Rivero.  Members and friends got an opportunity to hear Ms. Palacio talk about her personal background and some of the lessons she has learned along the way. After her talk, Ms. Palacio answered a series of questions from the audience about career decision making and braking perceived barriers.

The “Evening With” speaker series profiles members of the DC Hispanic community who have exhibited a high level of professionalism and commitment to HBA-DC. HBA-DC extends a special thank you to Nelly Montenegro, Catherine Cone, and Fernando Rivero for organizing this evening with Ms. Palacio, and of course, to Ms. Palacio for sharing her time with us.
