Catherine Cone


Catherine Cone serves as Counsel at the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs where she manages an active docket of individual and class action housing discrimination cases brought under federal and local fair housing laws.  She previously clerked for the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby, current Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (DCCA), who served as an Associate Judge for the DCCA at the time. 


Prior to law school, Catherine worked in various public interest and fundraising positions in Washington, DC and New York City. She obtained her B.A. from Duke University and J.D. from American University’s Washington College of Law (WCL).   


Catherine has been an active member of the Hispanic Bar Association of DC since law school. She previously served as Student Affairs Committee Co-Chair and Judicial Council Liaison, among other positions.  While at WCL, Catherine founded ADVANCE, a first-generation law student mentoring program that is now in its seventh year.
