Past Presidents: Juan M. Sempertegui (2015)

 

 Juan M. Sempertegui is Assistant General Counsel and Vice-President at Bank of America, NA. He began his legal career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Maurice A. Ross of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, followed by roles as a Litigation Associate with Carr Maloney P.C., and as the Director of Licensing for the State of Maryland’s Division of Financial Regulation. Before practicing law, Juan worked for nine years in the fields of accounting and finance for various entities including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He previously served as Chair of the Latino/a Alumni Association of the Washington College of Law, Region V President and National VP for External Affairs for the Hispanic National Bar Association, and as the 36th President of the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C. Juan’s past honors include American University Washington College of Law’s Edward Bou Alumni Award and the Leadership Award from the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves as a Non-Commissioned Officer, holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and a JD from American University’s Washington College of Law.
