Professional Development

The HBA-DC is dedicated to offering professional and career development opportunities for its members.  To this end, HBA-DC organizes and co-sponsors a wide array of activies and events that  serve our membership. 

Career Panels

HBA-DC organizes job panels that provide advice on how to break into new careers.  In recent months, panels have been organized on how to obtain a position as a Federal Government attorney, how to find a position as a Congressional staffer, and how to be become a tax attorney. 

 

 

     

 

  

Educational Seminars

HBA-DC provides educational seminars that provide professional education and other valuable information that members can use in their practice of law.  Recently, HBA-DC organized seminars on how to start a law practice and how to avoid malpractice claims.  

 

 

 

 

Networking Events

The HBA-DC offers a number of networking happy hour and other social activities that give its members an opportunity to meet and socialize.  Often, HBA-DC partners with other local and national organizations, giving its members the opportunity to meet people with a variety of interests and backgrounds.  Additionally, many of our networking events also help support worthwhile local charities, including AYUDA, the CAIR Coalition, and the Esperanza Fund.
