Public Service |
The Public Service Committee of the HBA-DC this year intends to focus on its mission by reaching out to the community and to the HBA-DC membership to learn about public service needs in the community and member interest in opportunities for public service. In an effort to meet this objective, the Committee will continue to work closely with leaders and institutions serving the Hispanic community in DC to identify organizations with which the HBA-DC can form long-term partnerships in public service. The Committee will also solicit input from the membership on pro bono and other public service interests. The Committee has a regular commitment each year to various public service-related events in DC. The Committee, along with the Student Affairs Committee, works to co-sponsor the Hispanic Law Conference at the Washington College of Law each year. The Committee also participates in annual open house programs in D.C. Superior Court to make the court more user friendly, open and accessible to the public that it serves.
